Vintage Candles - Easy (?) DIY

I'm not sure how "easy" this would actually be... But I bet I could find a lot of interesting vintage tins at the Salvation Army or the flea market on Fairfax & Melrose! Perhaps I'll try this out one of these days.

Mark Your Calendars...

For November 23rd. Lanvin for H&M hits stores... and it looks like it's going to be incredible.

... I don't think I'm going to be able to resist!

Cozy Jumpers

Perfect Fall must-have sweaters (although I think it's fun to call them jumpers):

Hopeful + Strong

Sometimes when things seem to be overwhelming...insurmountable.. too much to handle.. It's important to just remember you can only take things one step at a time. You must strive to find the silver lining in everything. Here are a few images that seem to help keep me going when times are tough:

I like to imagine myself living in this refurbished old apartment looking out at these worn apartment buildings. It's always been a dream to venture off to NYC and just see if I can be an East-Coaster even though I identify with the West Coast to my core... I think it would be a fun adventure. Making elaborate plans and dreams is always fun :)

Even when things are bad or hard - there is always so much good that gets lost in the midst of it all. Hold onto the good, and keep faith that things will get better.

Each day is a new day. Although I am usually a very happy-go-lucky person, right now there are some things happening in my world that are shaking my resolve. I just keep faith that tomorrow will be better than today and each day we get stronger.

Fall Cravings.. and making a comeback

Fall crept up quickly... I once again left the blogosphere for awhile... quite awhile. A sweet anonymous comment inspired me to make a comeback. Lately I have taken to constantly pulling images and dropping them in a large "Inspiration" file on my desktop. Be it fashion, home decor, or fun DIY projects, I find that it brings a bit of spark to each day. Here are a few of my fashion cravings for Fall:

Oversized sweaters, outfits with pops of color

All things sheer - current obsession: sheer maxis

Exhibit A: Sheer maxi. Love!

Cozy layers with a bit of edge

A classic cape

Unfortunately I need to figure out a better way to keep track of where all my inspiration comes from so I can give it proper credit... My apologies.

Hope your Fall is nothing short of fabulous. xo

Inspiration Hiatus

Looks like I was lacking inspiration... more like free time... in the past few weeks.

Well big changes are happening this month! The roommate situation is shifting and three new friends are moving into my 4 bedroom apartment. I am so looking forward to living with the new girls, but it is bittersweet to part ways with my current loves.

Instead of dwelling on these things, I am focusing on the endless possibility that awaits me in my new bedroom. Even though I am staying in the same apartment, I want a change of pace and think it's important to mix things up. I have been keeping my eyes peeled for bits of inspiration here and there for how I want to decorate, and these framed notes pulled at my sentimental heart strings...

I am planning on looking through my keepsakes box next time I'm visiting Seattle to see if I can find any little treasures that I felt the need to keep over all these years.
