The Perfect Bedrooms

This post is inspired by my heavy eyeballs. Oh, Monday... you get me every time. This past weekend was a whirlwind of fun at a friend's wedding at Hood Canal outside of Seattle. And now I'd like to retreat to one of these lovely bedrooms. I particularly like the neutral palettes with well-thought-out vignettes and interesting yet subtle pops of color.  Someday I'd love to have a fireplace in my room.

Polka Dots

I have an ongoing obsession with all things polka dot.  I really enjoy how playful and fun they can make an outfit with the right silhouette.  They're great for pattern mixing, they're flirty and feminine... basically, polka dots are just great.  I particularly love when they bring that ladylike touch to an otherwise entirely edgy/dark outfit.  Here are some of my favorites...

Photo Sesh

Came across Andria Lindquist's photography blog.  The girl has an incredible eye.  I'm in the market to buy my first "legit" camera... still point&shoot, but a nice one that will help cultivate the inner photographer in me.  For now, I find myself drawn to a bunch of random photographer's blogs to see what inspires them each day.  This shoot in particular caught my eye.

Stripe on Stripe, Layer on Layer.

I love this look in all it's simplicity... it's just put together so well.  I love the stripe on stripe - pattern mixing doesn't always need to get so crazy, sometimes different variations of the same pattern are the best.  I also adore the blazer under the blazer-esque jacket.  It's layering at it's finest.  Basically... I am really inspired by this whole look!

Marchesa at Cannes Film Festival

Rachel McAdams was a complete knock-out in Marchesa at the opening ceremonies for the Cannes Film Festival.  This dress is seriously unreal....  I'm obsessed.  I like that it's a really unexpected choice for her!

on the brink

On the brink of Summer - looking forward to weekends spend solely at the beach, spontaneous weekend trips, and pure relaxation.  First up: one of my best friends, Amanda, is coming to visit this weekend!  The catch: she's never been to California before.  The possibilities are endless!

Can I Move In?

I love this Swedish house featured on Desire to Inspire.  The entire house is so crisp and fresh with the predominantly white palette, but it's warm and cozy with the distressed wooden beams and other accents.  There are thoughtful touches throughout the house that make me just want to move in right this second - especially considering there is an attic bedroom.  There is just something so quaint about a bedroom in the attic and I have always wanted one.
