in need of some shades

I'm in the market for some new shades.  Traditionally, I don't like to spend more than $10 on a pair of sunglasses because I am too paranoid about sitting down on the couch and crushing them or tossing them in my purse without thinking about it and scratching the lenses.... Fall's Last Hoorah

befores and afters

Here are some "before" and "after" shots that I have found particularly inspiring lately... The first three from Design*Sponge and the fourth from Cupcakes and Cashmere. I loved how easy (yet dramatic) the candlestick transformation was - so this past weekend I tried it out for myself with very satisfying results... despite the fact that I missed the candlestick and ended up inadvertently spray painting my deck.  Oops!  I love how these "before" and "after"(s) gave these old furniture pieces a new lease on life - they went from quite ordinary to remarkable!
